Daryenn was born Glynhir, a female and rare progenitor on a world where the males, both fertile and infertile, outnumber the females hundreds to one. Her single purpose in life is to procreate, to mate and yield the eggs that will keep her world viable and healthy.
Ever since she was a hatchling, Daryenn looked beyond the walls of her Glyne and wondered what was there. And when she was taken into the city, she wanted to know what was beyond that. And when she was allowed to ride the countryside, she wondered what was beyond the impenetrable spines of the Naypass Mountains. Then the males found a tunnel through those mountains and into the strange poisoned jungles of the Deepings. And now Daryenn is determined to find a way beyond the confines of her sex and venture into the unknown. |
